    Default pre-sale question

    Hi,

I was wondering how would the subscription system replace the default subscription system and the users already subscribed? Is there an easy way to transfer all the current subscribed members to the new subscription system and how does it work?

    Thanks!

Do you ever receive any answers to this question? I have been wondering the same thing because I can't find a list of features anywhere and don't understand how this system works.

Yes it has a transfer from vB or load defaults.

You can go to the demo to kinda get an idea what it is about and how it works.

This is a previous version of both DS and SS but will give you an idea.

This is a post I put on another forum looking for a subscription system and I was pointed here. Will this system do these things?

I'm using vbulletin for a customer's website and she's not a fan of how I set up the subscription. Currently they have to register and then add the subscription to see user content. Is it possible to have the subscription be part of the registration process? And in addition to that she'd like to have a continued subscription pickup after the initial 13 week subscription on a monthly basis. Is that possible?

So to recap: She would like the registration give you the option for the 13 week subscription and then check off for a continued month to month subscription after the 13 weeks passes up at the time the register.

The issue with having any subscription or any payment system integrated with registration is the user has to have a userid. To have a userid they must register so it is a catch 22. I have custom set up sites where they register and it is a new group called Guest which they get put into which they see a demo of sorts of the site which redirects them to subscribe to see full site and content. You can also do integration into an invite system. They go to the site they pay for a sub and it records there Email they put in on special field on payment page. Then it integrates with invite system when payment is cleared it will add invite to invite system and send out Email with invite link. From there they can sign up to site using the link.

Now as far as 13 week sub no problem but to force a recurring sub after that time is up I don't have anything like that coded and most payment processors do not allow a delayed recurring. Subscription is for a set term say 13 weeks and when the 13 weeks is up the term it is linked to is still 13 weeks so it would be recurring off that. I guess in a sense I might be able to override the recurring time in settings.

So basically what I am saying is have two options for registration have them register to a guest group which issues an ID with no access or some access just to highlight features and benefits from subscribing. Or you have an invite system on site which I can advise on one that works well and I have used for this. Which they subscribe and it sends out invite to their email to register.

The other option for recurring stuff can ONLY be done with paypal and I would need to code an override in settings for that to be possible. This would be custom work.
